The next race is the British Grand Prix, which originally took place on October 5th 1935. Our race will take place on Tuesday August 14th 2018.
This race was originally scheduled to be a Grand Prix but the Royal Auto Club didn't want to offer the stand amount of prize money. Consequently, the German teams thought that the risk and expense of traveling to Britain for the race was to great for the reward. So Mercedes and Auto Union didn't participate.
This historical tidbit is just to good to leave alone. For our game we will not be treating this race as a standard Grand Prix, (where everyone earns x2 prestige and drivers of the nation earn x3) but as a Grand Prix only for British drivers and cars. Thus only British drivers and matching cars receive a x2 prestige. Also no Mercedes or Auto Union cars will be allowed in the race.
This is the home track for both RAC and UKDMA. Both teams will earn a prestige for starting and a prestige for finishing.
Donnington is a short track, 9 stops, and relatively fast out of the line and on the back side and but slow and twisty as cars approach the finish line.
