A sunny day and a full field greeted spectators to the Monaco Grand Prix. The German driver Rudy Carraciola and the ADAC team snatched the first place finish from Tazio Nuvolari and Team Ferrari in the second half of the last lap. Both cars were in terrible condition but both drivers held on to finish 1 and 2. Louis Chiron driving a big Delage made the French fans happy with his 3rd place win, slipstreaming past Manfred Von Brauchitsch at the finish line.
Other notable events were that Nuvolari showed his skill by not crashing his car despite overshooting a corner badly and being in 6th gear, and Hans Stuck spun-out three times but didn't crash. Go around the track Hans, don't just go in circles. Stuck's big powerful Auto Union didn't help him turn in a victory despite making lots of circles on the track.
Next up is the Italian Grand Prix track. In two weeks, fans will descend on the Northern Italian race track of Monza. This is a very fast track and should thrill fans with high speed results around the track. Check out the Monza Track here.
Maybe Nuvolari or Achille Varzi will thrill the home town crowd with a win?
Current team standings are available here.
