In just a few days, on May 29th 2018, we will start the 1935 La Grande Epreuve race season. For many of you this will be a new game and a new experience for Tom, Kevin, Jerry and I we will be revisiting the game only for our second time.
Over the last 3 months we have been working hard to tweak our original effort into a more fair, quicker and sleeker version of the one we played back in 2016. As you all know this game is a customized version of Formula D.
We've added cars, drivers, maps, events, economy, scores, trophies and a campaign to the original Formula D game. Mostly we've added and in my opinion it is so much better.
The additions grew out of a natural desire to have something more than a one off game. I often find myself doing this and many years ago I learned that I needed to write the rules down, edit, add and subtract from them often.
The La Grand Epreuve rules are now 7 pages in length. They exist to help us remember how we calculate, or how we score, or how we award, or how we replace. They also help us remember how to play when we don't play the game for awhile and come back to it again.
Understanding the rules will help everyone play the game. These rules are not difficult and it certainly isn't necessary to read them to be a competent player but they do exist and if you want to read them I've shared them here from my Google Drive account.
If you delve into the rules and find any typos please point them out. If you have any questions please leave a comment below or email me directly.
See you all next Tuesday.
